The 28th Annual Mayberry Days starts Monday, September 18, 2017 and runs through Sunday, September 24th.

Checkers Tournament Saturday, September 23rd. – "CHESTER JONES" CHECKER TOURNAMENT | Checker Tournament Sign-up, Mayberry Days Information Station (8:00am-11:00am), Front of Andy Griffith Playhouse. “CHESTER JONES CHECKERS COMPETITION” Play begins Saturday beginning at 12 Noon – 3:00 pm | Siamese Twins Exhibit below the Andy Griffith Playhouse (218 Rockford Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030) | Hosted by the Mayberry Chapter of TAGSRWC

• The tournament is a round robin and the trophy winner is the one who wins the most games. The trophy will be presented at the end of the tournament. Both practice and the tournament will be held in the Siamese Twins Exhibit beside the Betty Lynn exhibit on the lower level of the Andy Griffith Playhouse.

• Practice on the checkers tables during the week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. then challenge friends and family and try to beat George, Bertha or Dennis to become the 2017 checker champion of Mayberry Days in this round robin tournament. A limited number of spaces are available, so register at the Information Shelter with a $2 entry fee for a chance to win this year's trophy by winning the most games.
• The checkers tables will be available all during the festival for anyone to enjoy for fun or practice.
